Issie’s Sweeties began with a dream, a kitchen table, and a whole lot of sugar. Founded in October 2019 by Lauren, Issie’s Sweeties was born out of a craving—not just for sweets, but for something of her own. After finishing university and working for her mum’s business, Lauren knew she was meant to create something personal, something magical.

 With no background in confectionery or business, but with entrepreneurial spirit
running through her veins thanks to her parents, Lauren took a leap of faith.
Inspired by the whimsical world of Willy Wonka, she envisioned a future
bricks-and-mortar sweet shop—walls lined with jars of colorful treats, golden
ticket vibes, swirling candy canes, and a space bursting with nostalgia and
magic. While the physical shop is still a dream, that sense of wonder lives in
every order we pack today.

Named after her middle name, Isobel, in honour of her beloved Granny on her dad’s side, Issie’s Sweeties quickly became a local favourite. The big breakthrough came during the March 2020 lockdown, when our famous 1.2kg pick ‘n’ mix boxes brought joy to doorsteps all across Co. Armagh. The orders poured in, new products were launched, and we even teamed up with brilliant local businesses and influencers across Northern Ireland.

 But every journey has its ups and downs. In August 2022, Lauren made the difficult decision to pause the business to focus on her mental health. Despite stepping away, the spark never faded. And in October 2023—four years after that first box of sweets—Issie’s Sweeties returned, stronger, sweeter, and with even more
heart.
